Harrison Higgs

On Thursday at noon, Harrison Higgs talks about his work with digital photography, print works, and mixed media in a presentation entitled “Air Awareness and Ice Feel.” He will show examples from his current project, which explores the intersection between personal mark-making, macro photography, and customized automobile graphics.

All of you know Harrison, but you may not have ever had the chance to read about his background. Here is a short bio for you:

"Harrison Higgs has been teaching Fine Arts at Washington State University Vancouver for 10 years. His artwork explores the overlap between photography, printmaking, and digital imaging, which he has practiced since 1985. His work has been exhibited nationally in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Nashville, and Minneapolis as part of various group shows and print biennials. Internationally he has exhibited in Sofia, Bulgaria (Lessedra Print Annual 2005); Toronto(Wegway Fourth International Juried Art Exhibition 2005); and in Melbourne,Brisbane, and Tasmania as part of the International Digital Art Awards Exhibition 2004. In addition to digital pigment prints, he works with collage,photo-intaglio, monoprints, and other hybrid print techniques."

The talk is held in VMMC 1. Bring a lunch. Get to know Harrison's work better. And expand your understanding of digital technology.
